The Technology Innovation Project of the Year award recognises an outstanding aviation project that has successfully delivered measurable operational, commercial, environmental, or safety improvements through the innovative application of technology. This category celebrates completed or near-complete projects that have moved beyond concept—demonstrating effective implementation, stakeholder collaboration, and tangible results within the past 18 months. Entry is by a 5-page A4 PDF submission. Judges will be looking for a clearly defined project scope, structured delivery plan, and robust evidence of impact, paying particular attention to the criteria listed below.

  • Background: Provide an overview of the project
  • Project Delivery & Implementation: Describe how the project was executed
  • Innovation: Explain what makes this project innovative, such as: •            Novel application of existing technology •            Introduction of new tools, systems, or digital platforms •            Use of data analytics, automation, AI, or advanced modelling •            Integration across departments, systems, or supply chains
  • Outcomes & Measurable Results: Provide clear, quantifiable evidence of success
  • Sustainability & Long-Term Impact: Demonstrate: •            Scalability and replicability of the project •            Alignment with industry regulations and sustainability targets •            Long-term value creation and continuous improvement plans •            Lessons learned and knowledge sharing within the industry
  • Other Facts & Supporting Information: Include any additional materials that strengthen the submission
